John Raymond Kerby, 86, died Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Hospice Savannah. The native of Evans County attended the Claxton Primitive Baptist Church in Claxton, GA and Hope Baptist Church in Savannah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bertha Kerby, of Claxton and his brother H.C. Kirby, of Savannah.

He is survived by three sisters, Bessie Yentzer, of Savannah, Elaine Doak, of Savannah, and Gladys McDonald, of Statesboro, one brother, George Franklin Kerby, of Bloomingdale, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with the Rev. Peter Hartmann officiating.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Kerby, Sammie Kerby, Gary Griffin, Kevin Redding, and Scott Barnard.

Burial will be 4:00 p.m. in Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, Georgia.
